One of the services provided by the American Rose Society
is access to a group of expert rosarians known as Consulting Rosarians. These individuals
can provide advice on all aspects of rose culture including selection of roses, rose varieties, planting roses, fertilizers,
rose diseases, and the selection and proper use of pesticides. In addition, Consulting Rosarians are there to help with
problems that gardeners might encounter with their roses. A list of Consulting Rosarians with their contact information
and location within the Colonial District is provided below.
The Master Rosarians listed on this page are CRs that have
been recognized through a nomination process and approved by the American Rose Society as individuals who have provided
outstanding active CR performance for a period of at least 10 years and who have exhibited a willingness to continue as a
CR.

District Directory?
The new 2010-11 Directory will be available at the 2010 Pre-Spring Meeting
The Colonial District offers an invaluable tool to its members in the form of a Directory that
lists current officers, judges, consulting rosarians, and individuals who have been honored for their contributions at the
District and National levels. These listings provide the members the names of
judges who might judge their shows, consulting rosarians in their area should they have rose problems that they cannot resolve,
and knowledge about the current District officers and local society presidents.
You may ask if it’s necessary to have the Directory since we now have a website. The answer is a resounding, “YES!” There
are many benefits to having the paper Directory. First, it’s handy to have
the Directory near the phone for easy access; second; the website does not list addresses, which are necessary for contacting
judges to judge a rose show; and finally (and perhaps most importantly), not all members of the District have web access!
The Directory is sold at the pre-spring meeting. The cost is minimal--$3 for one copy, or $5 for two. If you
are interested in purchasing a 2010-11 Directory and don't plan to attend the pre-spring meeting, simply contact
Lynda Grass at 304/345-3634 or at lyndagrass@wvhdf.com with your request. Once she receives your check
made payable to the Colonial District, your Directory(ies) will be mailed to you. Or,
you may download and fill in the order form and mail it to her with your payment.
All proceeds from the sale of the Directory go into the treasury of the District; no funds are
ever taken by its publisher for its production.
